How We Work

Interior Preparation & Protection Process

01

Jobsite Protection & Home Care

Carpets are protected with clean canvas drop cloths
Wood, tile, and other hard floors are protected with rosin paper or protective underlayment as needed
Furniture, fixtures, cabinets, vanities, and surrounding surfaces are masked and covered to prevent dust or paint contact
Switch plates and outlet covers are removed before painting and reinstalled upon completion
Hardware, glass, and other finished surfaces are carefully protected as needed throughout the project
02

Precision Surface Preparation

Nail holes, minor wall imperfections, and small drywall repairs are filled, patched, sanded, and blended to create a smooth surface before paint is applied
Stress cracks and visible surface defects are addressed as needed to improve the final appearance and long-term durability of the finish
Gaps between trim, walls, baseboards, casing, and other painted surfaces are professionally caulked where needed for a clean, finished look
Surfaces are dusted, cleaned, and prepared before painting to help the coating lay down properly
Primer is applied where needed, including stain-blocking primer and full prime coats for major color changes, so finish coats go on evenly

Extensive drywall repair, water damage, texture matching, major settlement cracks, failing tape seams, or repairs outside the original scope may require additional work. If anything is discovered during preparation, we will review it with the homeowner before moving forward.

03

Interior Painting FAQ

How long does an interior painting project take?
It depends on the size of the space and how many rooms are involved. A single room is often a day or two, and a full interior takes longer. After we see the space, we give you a clear timeline up front.
Do I need to move furniture before you start?
We ask that you clear the rooms before we start, moving small items, valuables, and anything breakable yourself. If you need help with larger or heavier pieces, we are glad to lend a hand. Just let us know ahead of time.
Is it safe to stay in my home while you paint?
Yes. Most homeowners stay home during interior work. When you prefer, we can use low-odor, low-VOC paints, and we keep work areas contained so the rest of your house stays comfortable and usable.
Can you help me choose paint colors?
Yes. If you are unsure on color or sheen, we are glad to talk through options and what tends to work for the room, the lighting, and the look you are after. The final choice is always yours.
Do you paint ceilings as well as walls and trim?
Yes. Ceilings, walls, trim, doors, and woodwork can all be included. Tell us what you want done and we will lay out the exact scope in your estimate.
How do estimates and pricing work?
It starts with a walkthrough. Matt meets with you, looks at the rooms and surfaces involved, and talks through what you want done. From there he puts together a written proposal and emails it to you, with the full scope of work and pricing laid out. No vague numbers, and no surprises once the work begins.
